Hi Jigar,
Frankly all these fields are potential fields and one can get success in any of the above mentioned field provided you choose your career carefully. The most important thing which you need to keep in mind while choosing your field is your own interests and career aspirations. Ponder on the areas you feel passionate about, this will help you taking a decision.
Archeology is the field for those who have qualities like analytical and logical in thinking, grasp of finer details, accurate and keen observation. Engineering is the field for people who have sharp logical & analytical thinking. Media is a creative field and is for tho

Hi Akshay,
For SSC preparation advisable would be that you should join a coaching institute as it is a tough nut to crack. The examination is aimed at judging the knowledge of the candidate decision making and understanding of languages of the candidate.
However, if you want to prepare on your own I would say that there is no particular set of books which you can follow, the areas you need to prepare for in SSC Examination are: General knowledge, English, Arithmetic and objective type questions. For the Objective test, one needs to start practicing early and regularly. A good book on the basics of General Knowledge, supported by reading

Hi Jitendra,
There is no concrete plan which I can suggest you for preparation the only advice I would give is the key to success in such Entrance Examinations is Time Management and remember “there is no short cut to hard work”
There is no one set of books which you can consult. You can prepare through various tests prep books available in the market such as R.S. Aggarwal, Galgotias, and Meenakshi & Arun Sharma. For quantitative ability & logical reasoning section you should start going through the NCERT Books of class 9-12. For Verbal ability I would say, you can purchase Wren and Marten & a good dictionary would to start your prep
