Yes students with DMLT course can also try to open and run their own lab but there are some rules and things to follow.

But remember starting a medical lab need you to follow government rules and standards. You also need to get license and certificate before you can run lab.

Yes, you would need to take Maths for this course, according to what I read from the official website. They've quoted that a 10+2 background student can finish this course in 4 years and a graduate can complete it in 2-3 years. Both of them would require a math/science background for applying to this.

Do, absolutely, go for it. It is much better than going for an MBA (unless the MBA serves a grand plan of yours). With an M.Des in hand, sooner or later you'll find yourself wanted badly by the industry. The Indian manufacturing/services mindset is changing, and we are moving towards more of a 'build a brand' mindset. The things that'd get us there are:
