Hi,
Criteria is different for pursuing MBA in Austrlia and USA.
Please find below the requirements for pursuing MBA in USA:
1) GMAT
2) TOEFL
3) Undergraduation degree must be a 4 year degree or equivalent.

Both are good. Just you have to weigh which course you prefer the most. In English, you will hav to enhance your qualification for MA, MPhi or PhD for better career, while in journalism you can work even after diploma, if not more.

I suggest you write your CAT in November 2011, and clear it with a good percentile. Though MAT can never be compared with CAT, your performance in MAT, clearly shows, you have the potential to clear CAT with a good percentile. Look at getting admission in the top 20 B Schools in India.
