as IAS Examination is tough nut to crack it would be advisable that you should join a coaching Institute, however, if you want to do self study in that case you need to keep yourself updated on current affairs (read News papers, watch news channels) & work on your language skills (read novels). You should also work on your own core subjects as you need to opt for an optional subject which can be from your own stream. Last but not least you should gain the other Subject knowledge as well which will help you in your General studies Examination. There are several books available for IAS preparation in the market which you can buy; there is no one particular book which you can consult. If we particularly talk about GK the sources are Newspaper, GK Magazines, such as Competition Success Review.

Hi Nitish,
The Best Hotel Management Institute in Kolkata is IHM (Kolkata). Few of the others are: Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management, IIHM, NIPS School of Hotel Management, Nightingale Institute of Management Studies etc.
For almost all the good Hotel Management Institute you need to sit for an Entrance Examination, so it would be difficult to get direct admission. You may look for Qouta if available.
