Yes adrijit, laptop is provided only to PGDBM students not MMS. Actually it is compulsory, but if you request the concerned authorities they might consider it. But you have to pay the full fees at the time of admission, as laptop is given later.

MMS is pretty difficult, but you can give a try for PGDBM as it takes into account your academics and your GDPI performance as well. If you perform well there, then there's a chance for PGDBM.
