Geography does have career options but few of them may include Math as well like GIS (Geoinformatics) etc. However, few of the other options which you can look into are: Anthropology, Archeology, Geology,Petroleum Geology,Geophysics, Image processing, Climatologist etc. The subject one has to take is geography which means you need to opt for Arts stream.
After 12th your son can take up Bachelors degree in Geography after which he can plan to work with various government departments and research institutes as cartographer, regional and urban planner. Geographers also can join NGOs and other developmental agencies engaged in population studies, rural development and environmental issues.
