if I may ask.what soirt of benifit you wiah to have from there end. If you are going in for education .yes of course they can help you in many ways. first they being there will definately give you family support. at times it becomes a lot hard for students to manage evrything all by themselves. so there they will be lending a helping hand to you. Also what they can do is they can pay your tution fees from ther and can send in the recipt to you. in this way the amount which you will be required to show will be less and will be easily managed.
now I don't know if you are straight away looking for a PR. If yes, then family members setteled in the same country gives some extra points so the it will make you qualify for the PR if you fullfill other conditions.
