B.Arch is a particular branch of study that deals with the planning and designing of various types of buildings and their structures. The career opportunities for these architects are very high due to the boom in the infrastructure sector. It is a competitive field that includes various types of work.There are two things you can do with this: one, join in with some architectural firm(a group of architects, planners and draftsmen) who work together to design a building or an area of settlement. For this you must have a good academic record and as you begin like this, the post you might get may not be a high one and, not surprisingly though, the initial amount of payment may be small also. But as you gain experience and show your expertise, your hard work will get noticed and you will get rewarded. Two, you can launch yourself as a freelance architect by starting on your own. Here you will get some freedom to work but it may not reap you benefits as soon. This is because not everyone will hire a new (and so called in-experienced) architect, but some may. Those will be your golden chances.
In all, this is a really demanding field. Unlike, the ever-popular engineering stream, where you have to kind of fit in somewhere like a polished performer in a giant structure, here you have to almost create your own path. If you like your work, you will never get bored here as every new project would give you a new start. Besides India, if you realize now, is going to need a lot of good architects and planners for its construction needs, so one better be good at it as there would be a nice competition to see.
