It depends upon your performance because if i am not mistaken nobody takes biomedical intentionally in INDIA where all of us know there is almost no scope. Regarding job profile they will tell you, your designation at the time of placement and it will be true. Its not always software testing and more over if you spend some time, perform well and show your interest you can be part of their healthcare team. And most important thing biomedical is not a core branch it uses knowledge of all engineering branches to improve healthcare. The next big thing in health care is healthcare IT, where companies like google and microsoft are also actively involved e.g. google health, microsoft health vault, amalga, practice fusion, health 2.0 etc. and healthcare company like philips, GE etc. also requires more than 60% software engineers with experience so if you are a biomedical r biotech grad and have sufficient background in IT you will be prefered.
