Usually, it is 2 years but there are some universities which give admission in 3 year programme. So, this depends entirely upon the university in which you are seeking admission. Universities which are doing really well in MCA are: Delhi University, University of mumbai, University of hydrabad,Lovely Professional University Jalandhar, Punjab , K.J. If you are from CSE and even if you are an average student then very easily you can get a CTC of 6 LPA. I believe that in VIT if you are from core CSE then you have opportunities to get placed in your dream company or companies with a CTC of 8+ LPA. The highest placement for CSE this year was from Amazon (28 LPA CTC, 15 fixed & 13 variable). This is the best company you can target. But there are many Tier 1 companies where the selection process is rigorous. The numbers given below are not exact:

Also, there are many companies which offer humongous Salary for fresher such as

It depends entirely upon the company that is offering it. Since the mass recruiters bag most of the students the average is definitely low. The mass recruiters (companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant) offer a package in the range of 4 LPA. The other core IT companies (like Amazon, Mu Sigma, SAP etc.). May offer much more. The packages may vary from 6 to 20 LPA or maybe even 30 LPA. Although, people with packages of more than 10 LPA are just a handful and insignificant compared to the entire population of the CSE department. Overall, on average, the packages are just mediocre.
