Now a days, admissions to any engineering college is through entrance exam only. It could be JEE Mains or CET conducted by state board or by confederation of private colleges. So, 12th marks will not help. You have to score better in CET.

Most of the colleges close their admission process by the end of March and April. However, there are some institutions, which keep their admissions open in May. It would be advisable to apply for the respective institute, which accept MAT scores and appear for GD/ PI.
