You have not mentioned as to which state you belong to. Notwithstanding this situation, today is that almost all CET conducting states have veered away from giving any weightage to marks obtained in class 12th. Hence the importance of scoring well in 2nd PUC has vanished.

Normally lateral entry connotes entry in the 2nd year of engineering after the completion of Diploma in the similar branch of engineering. But after B.Sc, lateral entry is not allowed in B.Tech.
