This statement cannot be generalized. This varies from company to company and process to process.
I have seen few companies which insists on 60% in whole career for 1 process but it might not be true for a different process in same company.

Thanks for your Query with Ganga Group of Institutions. The Eligibity Criteria for B.Tech is "A Pass at the 10+2 examination of a recognized board of education with Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects along with one subject out of Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology with at least 45% marks (40% for backward/ reserved categories) in the above subjects taken together". If you score less than 45%, admission in any case is not possible. The Fee for B.Tech Program is Rs. 53,500/- per annum.
