Eligibility for joining BCA Course:
For getting admission to the BCA course in different government colleges all over the country, the basic eligibility is that the students must have completed their higher secondary examination in any stream of education. However, this might differ from one university to another. Therefore, candidates must check the eligibility requirement from the college at which they are applying. Some universities are conducting entrance examination for admitting students to this course, while some other universities offer admission based on the marks secured by them in the qualifying examination.

A 10th Passed Student can become an officer in Merchant Navy; he should have following requirements in him such as:- Hard WorkHigh Thinking & Higher DreamsPatienceRespect to seniorsPositive AttitudeBroad VisionThen nothing can stop him to become an officer in Merchant Navy.
1 He should be medically fit by the approved Doctors by Director General of Shipping, Govt. of India
2 He will go for six month course in recognized Institution by Director General of Shipping, Govt. of India.
3 He will get Continuous Discharge Certificate (CDC) after completion of the training.
4 After getting the CDC he will join on Board Ship for Sea Experience.
5 When he completes the 24 months of Sea Experience (during 24 month he will get stipend Rs 10,000 to 30,000 per month, food & accommodation free.)
6 He is eligible to appear in 2nd Mate examination. Once he clears the examination, he becomes the 2nd officer his salary starts from (Rs 1.50 to 2 lakhs) per month (depends from company to company.).
7 As a 2nd Officers 18 Months Sea Experience required to appear for Chief Officer qualifying examination.
8 Then he becomes the Chief Officer & will draw the salary of (Rs. 2 lakhs to 3 lakhs per month) depend from Company to Company.
9 As a Chief Officer it requires again 18 months experience to qualify for Captain Examination. Once he qualifies the test, he becomes the Captain of the Ship and draws the salary of Rs. 5 lakhs to 10 lakhs per months depending from Company to Company.
10 This is the Bright Future of 10th passed student, if he joins Merchant Navy.

If you really want to do good in computers and want to be a true software engineer then go for b.tech in computer science and engineering from a good technical college. it will take 4 years and you will have good practical / lab exposure of different programming languages and operating systems. the placement chances will be high too as compared to bca course. math weakness is not an obstacle in your engg study as it is studied for 1 or 2 semesters only out of total 8 semester. so check out your other options too as engg will be somehow costlier than bca but it will helpful for you to develope a scientific approach towards life. best of luck.
