At GIBS Bangalore, the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) play an important role in the final selection for

  • The GD helps the admission team see how well students communicate, work in a team, and present their ideas.

  • The PI gives a chance for students to show their personality, confidence, thinking ability, and career goals.

  • Together, GD and PI help GIBS evaluate students beyond just exam scores, making sure they're a good fit for the programme and have the potential to succeed in management.

Basically, even if your exam score is good, performing well in GD and PI is key to getting admission at GIBS.

Yes, work experience can definitely enhance a candidate's possibility of getting selected at GIBS, but it is not compulsory, and freshers are equally eligible. Work experiences often give an edge in selection because they bring practical understanding, industry exposure, and clarity of career goals that may help strengthen the performance in the GD/PI rounds. A number of students get selected every year as fresh graduates, and their case is considered at par wi

Yes. GIBS Bangalore does have a management quota for admission, which is basically an alternative route besides the regular process through exams like CAT, MAT, or CMAT. While regular admissions mainly focus on your exam scores, academics, and interviews, the management quota gives students a bit more flexibility in the selection process. Other steps like document verification, personal interaction, and fee submission remain the same, so it's still a fair and transparent way to secure admission at GIBS.

At GIBS, the admission process is pretty simple and student-friendly. First, you just fill out the online application form on the GIBS website with your basic details, academics, and course preference (MBA/PGDM/BBA). After that, the admissions team connects with you for a quick interaction — it's more like a friendly discussion about your background, interests, and career goals, not something to stress about.

Once that's done, you submit your documents and, if everything looks good, you receive the offer letter. After paying the initial admission fee, your seat gets confirmed. The team also helps you with onboarding, campus info, and
