AMIE, AMIETE, etc. were considered equivalent to B.Tech in the industry. Many of the past AMIE, AeSI, IETE engineers have achieved an exemplary position in the engineering society, but MHRD had issued a circular on 06 December 2012 mentioning that AMIE, AeSI, IETE recognition will be withdrawn on 30th of May 2013. Distance education engineering degree holders will also face problems related to AICTE recognition. The Indian Institute of Astrophysics is a premier institute devoted to research in astronomy, astrophysics and related physics. Institute runs a full-time research programme where in the students work towards their Ph.D. degree under the supervision of an IIA faculty. Students may join the programme in either the first semester beginning in August or the second semester beginning in January. The Degree will be awarded by the University of Calcutta. The duration of M.Tech course work will be of 2 years divided into 4 semesters. After successful completion of the M. A candidate with M.Sc degree in physics / electronic science / applied mathematics /applied physics from a UGC recognized institution is also eligible to apply.
You are advised to take PCM subjects in 10+2 board. After that you can take either engineering or science route to fulfill your dream.

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology has regularized many eligibility criteria for the candidates, who are appearing in the JEE exam. The eligibility prerequisites for the entrance exam are given in the following lines.
The candidates must not be above 22 years of age while applying for the exam. For the SC/ST candidates, the upper age limit is 25 years.

In science, you have engineering and medical. These are the traditional streams students choose. Some new streams are also in demand nowadays like bio-tech, nanotechnology, agriculture and genetic.
Students are also moving in fashion designing and interior designing. Research oriented students can go for KVPY and get into institutes like IISC or IISERs.
There are courses like mechanical/ electrical and computer science in engineering to newer ones like hotel management and fashion designing. You can opt for any of these as per your interest.
