Ravi don't go with which stream is better. Go with what you want do after studying B.Tech. You may take following considerations. If you like computer, want to build crazy application or something related to software go with Computer Science engineering. If you like playing with machines/motors or electricity go ahead with Mechanical engineering. Or Electrical engineering. If you are India, after studying Electronics and communication engineering most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only few percent gets chance in electronics companies. Cut offs for admissions differ from state to state for different branches of Engineering. In many states, if you have a valid score, you are sure to get admission in some college.

Hello Sukeerth,
As the normal eligibility is 50% plus aggregate marks in class 12th (PCM) to be eligible for admission in any college for any branch, but this aggregate may vary according to the standards of the college.

It will be really tough for you to get admission to good government colleges with these marks. There are many private colleges but you will have to pay high fees there, some good private colleges are SNU, Thapar, etc.
