Although applied electronics & instrumentation engineering is still an upcoming field under engineering and there are not many Unibversities and Institutes providing this degree but it has a good scope in industries like Thermal Power Stations, Steel Plants, Refineries, Cement and Fertilizer Plants etc. Also, one can find jobs in companies manufacturing specialized instruments as well as the industries using these Instruments both in public as well as private sectors. They have a multidisciplinary role to play.

The most important thing you need to keep in mind while choosing a branch is your own interests and career aspiration, so if you are somebody who love designing and maintaining buildings, roads, bridges etc. you can opt for Civil and if you feel that your interest lies in sectors like Automotive, Automobile, Aerospace, Manufacturing of heavy vehicles, and spare parts, Aeronautical etc. you should opt Mechanical. If you compare two NITS there is not a major difference both are good with their own merits and demerits. So, put more focus on the programme of your choice.
