Yes, is correct that correspondence course does not have a value that equals a regular course.
A regular course is a proof that you have been ACTIVELY engaged in interaction with your teachers as well as fellow students, are competing in the examinations, and know the latest developments in your field and about the career avenues.
If you do a correspondence course in India and are selected for a regular MBA abroad, how will you adjust to the new surroundings , and how will you be able to cope up with the requirements of the daily classroom seminars and giving out presentations, and interaction with the industry.
You say that you are depressed. In fact you are not depressed, but confused about WHICH way to go. This makes you fear the unknown , and you want to shrink into your own comfort zone.
Try to interact with more and more people to get the CORRECT picture of the reality. You have spoken to a very few chosen people, and surprisingly they have given you the correct advice.
Who has advised you to go straight for a foreign MBA, when you can do it here itself. What makes you do B.Com, in the first place. And, why are you in such a hurry-is it because of family circumstances, eagerness to make fast money, or someone has hurt your ego, so that you want to give a fitting reply to that person.
What are your natural aptitudes and tastes? Do you like to be a business manager, or are you more interested in arts, literature, or science.
Analyse your own interests, and seek the advice of people who are much elder to you, and those who have had much experience of this world.
Then, it is your duty to come out of your shell and comfort zone, and thrust yourself into reality.

First of all congratulations for getting a call from IIM.
To prepare for further rounds, make sure you are following the current affairs related to all major national and international events. This will help you not only in PI, but also GDs and essay writings, as the case may be.
1) IIMs give a lot of emphasis on acads, so brush up the concepts learned in graduation, even if you have a work experience of upto 3 years. In case you have work ex, be prepared with crisp, but comprehensive answers about your organisation, your profile, role, and responsibilities handled.
2) Apart from following news, it would be good if you are aware about some useful stats like population of India, literacy rate, basic economic concepts like GDP, various fiscal and monetary measures taken by RBI to control inflation and the current rate of inflation, growth, bank rate etc.
3) You can practice logical essay writing skills on various topics, which can range from current social to political to sometimes abstract topics.
4) Be thorough with your resume. Think through your hobbies, strengths, weaknesses, why you want to pursue the course and why you would like to chose that particular institute. Chose an area of interest and try to know as much as possible about it. Sometime you may be asked about your other calls and preference order, so its better if you are prepared and certain about your choices.
5) Be confident and, most importantly, do not lie. If you do not know an answer, its advisable that you accept it and do not bluff.

Well Pankaj, I am not sure how good you are with maths and programming. If you are, then you must pick up a language whether PHP/ HTML5 (web dev), .Net (for software dev) Java/ Android (for apps) or C#/ Unity (for games). However like i mentioned, you must be good with programming to move ahead in this area since you have to compete with MCAs and BTech(CS) applicants. So choose your internship/ industrial training very carefully. Do not just go for the cheapest to save money. See the IT company's credentials on the net. for example if someone provide LIVE PROJECTS are they there near the TOP on PORTALS like JUSTDIAL? Or if the company is registered with STPI (Software Technology Parks of India) - all good IT companies are registered with STPI. If a company spends money to market themselves to customers, only then they are able to get LIVE PROJECTS. Also, if you are an average programmer, and if you you're better with creative work, then you can head for web design or even vfx/ animation since there is a huge requirement coming up in that domain. There is also an intermediate path in games design and development. Wish you the best for your career.
