I'd be happy to understand your current stage of progress including academics, courses, hobbies and other interests to help you understand what in you can lead to game design and also what aspect of game design can suit you better.
Also, in most cases a broader learning like a combination of graphics, multimedia, web design, VFX, 2D and 3D animation, can lead to a better preparation towards launching oneself into a gaming career. A specialization in Game Design is a useful add-on afterwards. And just to state the facts, none of the famous game designers in the world today have done anything remotely linked to game design. That said, do not take it as a bar to entry, but to elucidate the fact that a broad learning is always necessary to get into a challenging career such as game design. Now, let's go into the nitty gritty on Game Design. To become a Game Designer, you must get a good knowledge of 3D software as well as preproduction. Usually in Games the environment is created in 3DSMax and Character animations in Maya, only the models are made with less polygons and more textures. So, choose a program that teaches you these software.
It would not matter whether the programme is called game design programme or not. Rest, to become a level designer you must have a passion for game design. Also, you must have passion for playing all kinds of games including card games, dice games, sports etc. The 3rd option is Game Design (it's different from Game Designer), where you design the game itself, i.e. what happens on each level, and how things go about as well as the base story of the game. It is a stage that you reach due to your vast knowledge and passion and even exceptional technical skills cannot help you reach. This is usually the story designer. May I ask, have you ever designed a game?
Finally, to do game programming you would require knowledge of programming in which usually a B.Tech/MCA would help. Typically, game programmers usually would be knowing C#, Java, Android besides at least a Game Engine.

Dear Riddhi, The basic difference between Pgdm(general) &Pgdm (finance and banking)i that Pgdm general program is accredited by AIU which is equivalent to MBA .
PGDM GENERAL is a program which aims at providing conceptual and analytical abilities required for effective decison making.The three trimesters aim at building up the basic knowledge while in the last three trimesters you can take up electives of your choice from any two specialization.
PGDM BANKING &FINANCE is one of the best specialization .Due to it's demand in market and good salary prospects.This field is so much expanded in last few years which results in great opportunities in this field.
I will suggest that you should go for pgdm general as you can take Banking & finance as an elective along with one more subject as an elective and at the time of placement you could have an option to go for either of the two specialisation.

VFX is a field of applying your design knowledge to create pleasing effects to highlight and progress the story. So typically a VFX person either comes from animation or film making. The lower end staff comes from graphics.
Now, ideally a Course in either Animation or Film Making would qualify you to then take VFX as a specialization and also ensure that you stand on firm ground. Do not focus on what the certification is called, but search more on the learnings from the course. Something like VFX Pro or similar specialized course from a good institute can be good. Only check if the faculty is of that level. Placement in VFX is better in South India because of multiple regional film industries. It could be good in Hyderabad and Chennai besides the usual options in Mumbai which supports the Hindi as well as north region film industries.
Technical Director is the best post for a VFX Artist. And low end are Rotoscoping and Wireframe removal artists. Alternatively, like in Programming where after BCA you go for MCA to be accomplished, you may like to pick up superior skills to enter the industry. I would suggest AAIP for becoming 3d Generalist and then taking VFX Pro for specialization.
