Unfortunately these days, admissions in engineering colleges is through some or the other entrance exam like JEE Mains or CET conducted by state govt. Marks obtained in 12th only decide yes or no.

See, the best book is NCERT but for practice and to increase the speed of solving the answers you can opt for some other books that are having approximately 90% as questions, in that you can have the books you like and which you think will be the best for you.

The nomenclatures of the two are same as they are both Bachelor Degrees. It is up to a university to give a title to the course. Like MA in Journalism and Mass Comm becomes an MA in Mass Communication only at some places.
However, B.Sc. takes some technical aspects more in comparison to the general BA in Mass Comm or BJMC or BMM.
Still, there is no difference as such. Better to go with Traditional Names as these are accepted everywhere as approved.
