Eligibility:
The applicant must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Master's in Science.
The candidate must have a valid GATE score.

As mentioned above, if you are interested in pursuing graduation through lateral entry, one requires to qualify LEET as conducted by the technical education board of the state. Lateral Entry Entrance Tests are conducted on state level. But some colleges and Univerities too conduct Lateral Entry Tests. You will get direct admission to 2nd year of B.Tech if you clear the exam.

Being a female, it is but natural for you to be interested in Psychology as a subject.In fact, you already know a lot of it through your observation of human behaviour and relationships. But, why do you wish to pursue a course in Humanities, which is different from Computer Science. Then, you will be diverted from your present career option.
If there is no specific reason, but your own interest in the subject and enthusiasm, then you can always pursue a private study. To begin with, a good book is "Introduction to Psychology" by Morgan & King.
For applied aspects, read "Born to Win" by Muriel James & Dorothy Jongeward -it is a good treatise on Transactional Analysis (first book on the subject was "Games People Play" by Eric Berne).A second book on the subject is "I'm OK-You're OK". For Organisational Behaviour , Robbins is a good book. For gesture psychology (finding out the internal motives behind a gesture) you can read "Manwatching" by Desmond Morris.
