    Hi Ujjwal, Agriculture is a primary source of livelihood for the majority of Indians. Thus, generally it remains the last priority among students choosing a career option. Agricultural graduates have wide scope of career in public sector and private sector. In fact entrepreneurship is a great opportunity to pursue your prospective career in agricultural field. It is just a myth that Agriculture does not offer job opportunities. This is a very wrong assumption.     Being an agrarian country, Agriculture has huge scope and will never run out of job opportunities in either government sector or private sector both plus entrepreneurship opportunities too. Lots of Government as well as Private job opportunities are present for fresh graduates. Talking about Government jobs, State Agriculture Departments recruit agriculture graduates to fill up Officer level posts.     Private jobs: There are lots of opportunities in private industries which are working in Agriculture sector e.g.Tractor companies, Irrigation companies, fertiliser and seed companies, Dairy firms etc., as a sales executive as well as research department. Initially, they offer a salary of Rs.15000-30000 for sales executive and Rs.25000-50000 for R&D.
