What are the disadvantages of aicte approved pgdm over mba which is affiliated to universities? tell me in detail pls.

The PGDM program unarguably adds more value as compared to an MBA program. I did my PGDM from K.J.Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR) , Mumbai. An MBA program is offered by an University whereas a PGDM program is offered by B Schools which are approved by AICTE. The PGDM program is constantly updated to keep in tune with the requirements of the industry. An MBA program offers a syllabus which is rarely updated and has no relevance to the current business scenario. The PGDM program offers guaranteed placements whereas an MBA program does not do so. They speak about placement assistance, which rarely happens. A PGDM program has close to 130 credits as compared to an MBA program which has around 105 credits. The faculty for the PGDM program are professionals with rich experience in their respective fields. This ensures that the input is of a high quality. If you take an MBA program, it is common to see freshers with hardly one or two years of experience, taking subjects. Lastly, the industry by itself, always prefers a PGDM over an MBA

An MBA is mostly offered by universities while B Schools offer PGDM. Though considered equivalent, for higher education many universities prefer MBA qualifieds.
