What qualities and skills should one possess to become a cartoonist?

There is no particular set of qualities to become a cartoonist. If you are creative and can deliver what your client wants to can easily start your career as a cartoonist. You must have excellent drawing skills. Be as imaginative as you can. Add a sense of humor to your creation. Be socially updated. You must be aware of what is trending. That makes your cartoon fresh and maintains your demands in the market. You must have good communication skills and that should reflect in your creation. Always listen what your clients want and deliver according to them. Last but not the least you must have the ability to accept criticism. Create your own style. Be updated with all new tools. Sometimes there are tight deadlines and you have to be as creative as possible. The more knowledge you have the better your arsenal for your work. Familiarity with blogging and posting art online, and interacting with fans in social media, is an ad on for your profile.

They work for publishers, creating comic books and graphic novels as well as occasional book illustrations. Skills: Cartoonists must have artistic and technical skills, including a talent for drawing and an understanding of the tools and mediums involved in cartooning. These tools include not only paper and pencil, but also computers and animation software. Cartoonists must also be adept at communicating with wit and humor, because in addition to being entertainment, cartoons often comment on current events, especially in the case of editorial cartoons, which often address politics, religion, economics or other potentially controversial topics. Writing talent is equally important, because cartoonists not only draw, but frequently write dialogue and titles. Cartoonist Hilary Price cites communication skills as even more crucial than artistic technique, saying there's an unspoken rule of newspaper comics that you cant have bad writing and good art.

A Cartoonist is a person who makes caricatures of different 'humans' and creates a light visual moment in the mind of the viewer. Cartoonists are generally associated with Print Media-Newspapers and Magazines. They are, however, free artists as painters and illustrators. How to Become a Cartoonist and what skills and qualities are needed to be one are as follows: 1. Skills and Qualities: A Cartoonist must be able to understand the aspects of entertainment, political commentary, creativity, painting, promotions and advertising etc. 2. Along with the above, a strong, mature and unending sense of humor is must. 3. Willingness and Interest in Influencing as well as Educate People 4. Creativity and self-discipline not to hurt the sentiments of people or communities 5. Excellent Drawing Skills along with the above: knowledge of softwares for image editing, knowledge of social media for promotion and sharing of contents, good public relation and organizational skills to offer workshops as a trainer.
