This field, the careers in it and the functional areas are just integral in getting a meaningful biotechnology product to market. These areas include:
    Research and development
    Software engineering
    Quality assurance/regulatory affairs
    Project management
    Clinical research
    Government (policy making)
    Manufacturing
    Business management
    Food, animal, and environmental Science
    Sales and technical support
Biotechnology as a field and its knowledge has applications in many industries, so the specialist professionals can choose to work for a variety of organizations be it government agencies or private companies, regulatory bodies, or clinical laboratories.

Both the programmes are good, however, B.Tech would be more suitable for the good prospective career. LPU has developed extensive research facilities and infrastructure to sustain the teaching and research activities. The innovative educational programme lays an emphasis on developing an analytical approach, built upon a robust knowledge intensive foundation. The graduates of the Department of Biotechnology and biosciences are essentially taught with a strong multidisciplinary approach, being trained in both applied biological sciences and applications through a rigorous curriculum, augmented by hands-on experience during internships.

    Hello Pusan,
As you may already know, B.Sc. Is 3 years (six semester) and B.Tech is 4 years (8 semester) programme. Comparatively B.Sc. Is much more relaxed than B.Tech. The amount of course work and lab work will be less in B.Sc. And you will be introduced to the core subjects right from the first year whereas in B.Tech, 1st year will have common engineering course work (Refer any university syllabus) with very little or no core subjects. From 2nd year there will be 6 or 7 course works and 3 or 4 lab works to complete in each semester. This can change from one university to another but it won't be less than that. Please see the list o

Both the programmes are good, however, B.Tech would be more suitable for the good prospective career. Clinical Research Organizations (CRO), research labs where you can work on different projects and can earn fat money. It is basically testing the safety & efficacy of innovated drug product on human beings before getting marketed. Biotech+Clinical research is a very good combination likewise Biotech + PGDMLT is also a superb combination. Clinical research gives you knowledge about what is ICH-GCP guidelines, GMP/GLP, inventio

B.Tech Biotechnology programme is designed to meet the ever-changing scenario in the field of Biotechnology. JNU's major emphasis is on the practical knowledge, where students are trained in the field of Microbiology, Molecular and Recombinant DNA Technology, Bioprocess Engineering and Bioinformatics. Organization of seminars, workshops, industrial and institutional visits help the students to develop research temperament, orientation skills and to practically observe Biotechnological processes at Industrial level. Six months dissertation (Project Work) in last semester provides an opportunity for the students to work in emerging field

    Hi Pushan,
At the end, what is your aim out of doing the course matters? B.Sc is the best path if your aim is to be in the research or academic field, because the course is more focused in Pure Biology. Plus (B.Sc+M.Sc takes 5 years) so the 6th year you can join for Ph.D. B.Tech is best if your aim is to get an industrial job because when you go to engineering college most probably the only department with Biology involved will be biotech in the entire college. And engineering course is a mix of different courses, the initial year you will learn (Mech - ECE -Civil etc. ). But later it will be more of equipping your industrial knowledge

    Hi,
Biotechnology course for Plus Two students in the Science stream. Out of these 2, according to me B.Tech Biotech is good as it has a much good scope and jobs available than just simply B.Sc. In Biotech. B.Tech Biotech is more of a professional degree than just a B.Sc. Biotech degree. Pharmaceutical Consultant. Research Scientist. Business Developer. Biotechnologist. Clinical Technician. Software Developer. DNA Analyst. The top areas of research for the B.Sc. Biotechnology students are in Medical Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology, Genetics, Microbiology, Environment Conservation and Biodiversity, and Genetics, to name a few.

I would say Lovely Professional University is best for pursuing B.Tech in Biotechnology. If you're looking for quality education, good placements, exposure, and academics then LPU is the right place, it has all. I am saying this because one of my knowns is pursuing the same course from LPU and her experience is amazing. She told me faculty members work hard tirelessly in enabling students with the acumen to apply the findings of Biosciences in the fields of medicine, forensics, nutrition, and dietetics for the benefit of the community. LPU School of Bioengineering and Biosciences is equipped with state-of-the-art Bioprocess Engineering
