I respect each one's view.I would like to add that every child has something creative in their mind. Some shut that activity, thinking what is the use of it.What salary could I draw on its completion(various courses). But according to my view, I expect even parents to find skills on their children which pays him/her in terms of creativity, knowledge and ultimately success. Children should find their own way of interests. No matter what the salary, compulsion .Nothing. There is a great scope in each and every field. Suppose, what happens if a child gets a good college say, NIT.No stream of his choice, no interest. Nothing new or productiv

Civil Engineering in the branch of Engineering and Science which deals with the Civil development of any country. It may be in the form of roads, building, dams, or any other physical structure, apartments, hospitals, railway tracks, etc.
This is also one of the core branches of Engineering and that it has not been derived from any other branch.
On the other hand, Mechanical Engineering is that branch of Engineering which deals with the Development of Machines, their parts, their inventions, and others such things.!

My preference will be mechanical engineering followed by civil/ structural enginnering. They employ in bulk worldwide. The money spinned in projects are more for these disciplines and related work.

CS is best because it has easy syllabus then others if one is going for higher studies. However it requires brain. For only B.Tech i think both Civil nd ECE are good becoz of greater placements.

from my point of view if you have good knowledge and good working skills of your field then it doesn't matter from which engineering background you are. And come to popularity computer engineers are more popular and are more in demand in india as well abroad, where as if you have done engineering with core like mechanical, electrical, then you can switch to other engineering field.

I like Civil Engineering the most for the kind of vast scope that it has. it also is the very first engineering branch after military engineering. In the times that are to come, we really hae a good scope of rise in Civil Engg.

yes,it is a good discussion to deal with. But one thing a student should think of is no stream is useless. if anything is useless why would they offer such courses. Student should know the area where his interest lies and go for it.

A very Interesting topic indeed. I would like to divert our attention to the word "Popular" for a moment. This word or shall i say "event" is very Susceptible with Time.
An engineer's course is of 4 years.A defined course is set for him/her from the very beginning for the next 4 years. Sadly, by the time 4 years are over, whatever he or she has read, has become obsolete or downgraded with the rapid increase and advancement in technology in every stream, and I literally mean any!
My case will speak volumes for this topic and how "Popularity" is susceptible with time. I entered my college (DCE) with high prospects of ECE ( Electronics an
