commitment ,passion,thirsty of knowledge makes you best in any stream of engineering.do not think mechanical courses offers purly related to automobiles.mechanical has core subjects fluid mechanic ,thermodynamics,strength of materials gas dynamics,theory of machiens,dynamics of machine,machine design,manufacturing process,etc.that means during a four year course you are tasting a spoon water in sea.

All these fields are good but their importance and acceptability in the market keeps changing with time. You can excel in any of them provided you have flair for the kind of work involved in any of them.

All the branches have good scope in the current scenario. According to me, you should opt for mechanical or civil engineering as these two branches are evergreen and have good scope. Employment opportunities in these branches are in abundance.
