    Both the branches are among the evergreen fields of engineering.
    Talking about the current situation, the demand and supply of CSE Engineers is more than Mechanical Engineer because IT Sector is developing much in our country.
    Mechanical Engineers are also having good demand because of establishment of many industries in India by 'MAKE IN INDIA' Initiative.
    Talking about the packages offered to CSE is good and more as compared to Mechanical Engineering and The jobs of CSE is more than that of Mechanical Engineering.

    CSE branch is the most popular and demanding branch nowadays as many students are joining this branch for better future as many tech companies are giving jobs to CSE students now as compared to others. Mechanical engineering is also good but right now this branch is not so famous as CSE branch and not much salary is offered to the students of this branch.

    As per the current scenario, the tech industry is booming and there is a large demand for CS/IT engineers allover India and abroad too. There are many specializations and job profiles available for a student.
    Other than that, CSE has the highest percentage of placements in almost all colleges.
    Even the packages offered are the highest in CSE as compared to other branches.
    Mechanical engineering opens up a vast ocean of opportunities to anyone who pursues it.

    1) Interest:-
    You should find out the content of both mechanical and CSE and look for which interests you the most.
    For an overview, you will find subjects related to thermodynamics, some robotics and electronics, strength of material, machine drawing etc if you study mechanical engineering. Regarding CSE, you will be studying computer graphics, organization of computer, lots of programming, networks, database etc. Something that interests you more, is better.
