bsc is a good degree for IAS. the reason for this is :- you get 6 try till the age of 30. yet, IAS is a demanding examination and it demand a clear understanding in a subject. And bsc is a degree specially for teachers and focus on giving clear understanding in a subject. rest of all , matters on your interests.

BA and B.Sc both are better but you are preparing for IAS, so BA is the best choice because this degree will help you with your IAS exam preparations.

Which stream you have now, and which is your favorite subject? Science and Arts both stream are good for IAS. Some students choose history, geography and political Science as their main subjects while some students do IAS after engineering also. Some selects chemistry and anthropology as their main subject. It totally depends on you in which subject you feel more comfortable. Best of luck.
