Which one should I prefer for an MBA: Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi or XLRI - Xavier School of Management and why?

Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) and XLRI, Jamshedpur are two top class premier B-School in the country.They are in the same league as they both have the ability and tie-up with many big firms who are recruiting their students for placement. Also their top class faculty and infrastructure enable the student to excel in the field of management. So you can go in any one of these fields.To get into XLRI you are to qualify XAT and after that GD-PI and to qualify for admission to FMS you have to score good in CAT after that you have to appear in GD-PI for the same. Both are top class and no doubt you can choose any one you go. FMS has relative small batch size as compared to XLRI.Therefore it is easier to excel in FMS as compared to XLRI with large batch size . Hi Top, Firstly, FMS Delhi and XLRI Jamshedpur are both top class institutes in all aspects and are often compared with one another since they are in the same league. Both have their own strengths. FMS Delhi has a huge number of marketing firms visiting the campus for summers as well as final recruitment. Moreover, FMS Delhi has a much smaller batch size (~220 students) compared to XLRI so it is easier to excel at FMS Delhi than elsewhere in a larger batch. Both institutes are rich in its history and therefore have varied and strong alumni base. Another advantage that FMS Delhi enjoys is that it is situated in the heart of Delhi University, thereby providing you lots of cross-university colleges networking and broader exposure. At the same time, being in the capital of the country does have its own advantages in terms of greater exposure, more corporate interaction etc. In terms of fees, it is well known that FMS Delhi is quite inexpensive compared to any other B-Schools in the top strata. Moreover, the semester based system at FMS Delhi offers ample time to its students to pursue their own interests, apart from academics at the college. However, one downside of FMS Delhi is that it doesn't have the facility of semester/trimester exchange program. So decide what's best for you and choose accordingly.
