Which one should I prefer for B.Com: Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration (GCCBA Kolkata) or St. Xavier's College and why?

Both are equally good colleges. Though St. Xavier's is a bigger brand, your preference should totally depend on your board results since the cut-offs for St. Xavier's is around 95% whereas for Goenka it is 90-92%.

According to me Goenka College of Commerce and business administration in Kolkata is most suitable for doing B.Com then Saint Xavier’s College because Goenka College of Commerce and business administration in Kolkata is ranked 11 all over India in business schools. The fee structure of both of these colleges is about same which is 13500 year. Placements in Goenka College of Commerce and business administration are as follows: There are placement opportunities for B.Com students by the big 4 auditing firm like Deloitte, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Ernst and Young, and KPMG. Many other companies like Futures First, HSBC, Amazon, etc. also visited. The average salary offered is between 3.5 LPA and the highest package offered was Rs. 920000 CTC by Future First and the lowest was offered by Amazon for Rs. 270000. Placements in Saint Xavier’s College are as follows: Packages over 11 lakhs are also handed out. There is a placement cell for your help. Seminars and workshops are conducted for the companies that come in for recruitment. Companies like PWC, ITC usually visit the campus placements.

Annual Alumni Salary for St. Xavier’s College Kolkata with 2.5 years of experience is approx. 5.5 Lacs. Whereas for Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration (GCCBA) annual salary with the same experience is 4.10 Lacs. 5. Another Important Factor St. Xavier’s College Kolkata Course Fee (B.Com in Accounting and Finance): INR 43.9 k. St. Xavier's, Kolkata and Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration (GCCBA) Institute are equally good institutes. Later is better ranked. Some of the important points while selecting an institute - Accreditation of the institute, institute's infrastructure, teaching faculty, specialization offered, past placements records., tuition fees, city preference, and industry interface. As both, the institutes are having the campus Kolkata. Industry exposure is good for students in either of the college. If possible a visit to college is better option to get a reality check.
