How are the placements of BE in Civil Engineering from Jadavpur University?

BE placements from Jadavpur university are far better as compared to other institutions of Bengal. There is a large scope for civil engineers in both corporate as well as the North East India, where Jadavpur university students find a path to do better in future. Talking about the average placements from the university, it is been around Rs 6.5 lakh per annum, the highest being Rs 15 lakh and lowest being Rs 3 lakh. Since there are many companies visiting for non-civil fields then also civil students participating and getting selected are contributing to high placement percentage. Though overall, university is very nice, but one should get more information about the locality and culture of the university before taking admission as it may not suit the north Indian as told to me by one of my seniors. Also, the admission process is through West Bengal JEE conducted every year where one has to perform the best for getting into a civil branch of the most elite institution of Bengal. Thank you. Jadavpur University civil placement are compatible to the low level Indian Institute of Technology colleges all over the country. Overall, by looking at the placement report of 2017 for civil engineering batch, placements can be regarded as decent as they have a large number of core companies visiting the campus which is the biggest problem faced by any other engineering college in India. Companies like Flour Daniel, MN Dastur, HILTI, Reliance Defence & Offshore, Shapoorji & Pallonji and many more were the ones to readily recruit civil engineering students offering nothing less than 8 to 9 lacs. Also, many students from this university went on for further studies abroad and perform very well in the GATE examination to get placed at the PSU'S. If placement is what excites you join the college then be assured that the college will provide you with a decent placement and if you are a little more hard working then the middle of the students might just land up in core company. Jadavpur University Kolkata is cheap and best engineering college of West Bengal. It's among top three engineering colleges of West Bengal.The university is well known for its return of the investment ranking.The fee is negligible there. Placement is the most important feature of the university. Placement in civil engineering branch is not as good as computer science engineering or information technology but believe me, university will never disappoint you. Here are the highlights of placement for civil engineering branch: No of students: 92 No of students placed: 53 Core placement: 40 The average salary offered: Rs 4.67 lakhs per annum. Companies like L&T construction, ZS associates, SPCL, DCPL, Mani group, Tata Steel, MN Dastur etc visited the campus.Usually, core engineering job offers are low initially but will increase very fast with your experience.So don't worry about it. Hey there, Well, I will try to answer this question and provide all the relevant useful information. Jadavpur University is one of the top premium institutes of India. Apart from the best education, placement actually depends on the market demand. In 2011, almost 95% students got the jobs in core companies while it certainly decreased after that due to less demand. Some of the best companies like Tata Steel, Flour Daniel, L&T, Bridge and Roof, TCE, Jusco, Dastur, Foster Wheeler, SPCL, Mani Group, Flour Daniel, MN Dastur, HILTI, Reliance Defence & Offshore, Shapoorji & Pallonji, Punj Lloyd, etc., to visit Jadavpur. Core engineer's salary is less in the start of the career, but it increases significantly with experience so do not worry about that. You need to be a topper or within the first top 10 students in your class to be eligible to get selected in a good company. The initial payment may not be too good, but as you become more skilled, you can get a good pay. Well, the average salary offered by these companies is 4.5-6.5 LPA. About 60% of civil engineering batch gets placed every year in both core/non-core companies. The rest of students decide to go for higher studies. I hope this helps you.
