1 year is quite a long time to not only prepare but also to score good marks if done with proper planning and dedication.
Try to solve a sample question paper daily with a stopwatch and all so that you have an eye on time which is the most crucial thing as there are minimum criteria of 30% in every section so, you can't miss on anything. Prepare a proper schedule to focus on every single subject practice as many questions as you can. As there are questions from every chapter of each section so you can leave few chapters which you may find difficult.

A year is too much for an exam like CPT. As per my opinion, 2 months are enough for it as to get through, one needs to score 50% in aggregate considering negative marking.
For that, I would suggest you to clear all your basic concepts and fasten your calculations with respect to maths. This will be sufficient.
As in accounts, law and economics the questions will be based on the basic concepts and when it comes to maths what all one need is faster calculating speed.
Refer only institute's books as those are the best guides for CPT exams. Generally, questions come from the practice manuals only.

The most important thing to clear CA CPT Exam is proper dedication and precision when you prepare for the exam. Along with the theoretical part you should also be confident in the application of concept and the time-management.
