A UGC approved university doesn't need AICTE approval. As per law, universities don't require approval from AICTE to run its courses. It's the institutes which are affiliated to universities needs AICTE approval. As LPU is a Bonafide University established by a State Act, it does not require AICTE approval.

AICTE approval is not obligatory for LPU because LPU is a UGC-approved university. As per the supreme court ruling, this approval is mandatory only for technical institutions. However, LPU is affiliated with the Distance Education Council.
