Accreditation and approvals play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and recognition of higher education institutions. While many technical programs in India seek approval from regulatory bodies like the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to maintain standards in curriculum, faculty, and infrastructure, it is important to note that universities established by an act of Parliament or State Legislature are not legally required to obtain AICTE approval to offer technical courses. This has been clarified by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in judgments such as Bharathidasan University & Anr. vs All India Council for Technical Ed

Lovely Professional University (LPU) is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is a private university established by a state act. Because of this, it is not required to have separate AICTE approval to run its technical / professional courses.

According to the law and relevant Supreme Court rulings (e.g., Bharathidasan University vs. AICTE), universities established under a state act and approved by UGC don't need AICTE's prior approval to run engineering or technical courses.

Bro, LPU ek UGC recognized university hai aur AICTE se separately approval lene ki zarurat nahi hoti kyunki universities ko UGC hi regulate karti hai, lekin jo professional programs jaise B.Tech, MBA, Pharmacy, Architecture hote hain un sabhi ko respective councils se approval milta hai matlab agar tu engineering karega toh AICTE norms ke according hi hoga, agar pharmacy karega toh PCI approved hoga, aur architecture COA se approved hai, so tension lene ki zarurat hi nahi hai, sab legal aur recognised hai.

Lovely Professional University (LPU) is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and, as a full university established under a State Act, it does not require separate AICTE approval for its on-campus degree programs. For certain online and distance programs, LPU has AICTE approval. Overall, LPU is best, offering recognised and credible programs with strong infrastructure and industry exposure.

LPU does not require an AICTE approval since it is already approved by UGC, a statutory body of the Government of India. This is because universities do not require AICTE approval compulsorily. LPU offers 200+ programme and in all three mode of education regular, online and distance mode.

    hi,

Lovely Professional University (LPU) is a recognised private university established under the Punjab State Private University Act and is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). As a university, it does not require separate AICTE approval for conducting degree programs, since AICTE primarily regulates technical education in affiliated colleges. However, LPU's technical and professional programs are designed in accordance with AICTE guidelines, and some courses receive program-specific approvals from relevant statutory bodies. The university is also accredited by bodies like the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and h

AICTE approval is not obligatory for LPU because LPU is a UGC-approved university. As per the supreme court ruling, this approval is mandatory only for technical institutions. However, LPU is affiliated with the Distance Education Council. In addition to it, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the Council of Architecture (COA) and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). LPU was the first university to get approval from ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research). LPU has ACBSP accreditation as well as holds an affiliation with the Bar Cou

To my knowledge and findings, LPU does not require an AICTE approval since it is already approved by UGC, a statutory body of the Government of India. This is because universities do not require AICTE approval compulsorily. AICTE approval is not required for a university to run a course in technical education as has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in its judgment CWP2056 of 1999 titled BHARATHIDASAN UNIVERSITY & ANR. V/S ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION & ORS, and various other cases UGC-approved is better as it will be internationally recognised. AICTE is some kind of government recognition but it will have no reciproc

    Hello,
Lovely Professional University (LPU), Jalandhar is recognized by UGC (University Grant Commission). Universities need approval for certain professional courses from the concerned Councils which regulate the courses in a certain discipline such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Law, Architecture, Distance Learning, etc. Wherever recognition by Statutory Bodies is required or mandatory, LPU has obtained such recognition/ approval. Thank you.

However, LPU encourages students to appear for LPUNEST, which is required for certain programs and also helps in securing scholarships.
