    Dear student,
As per the Supreme Court ruling in the famous Bharathidasan University versus AICTE case it is not obligatory for a university, created under an Act of a competent legislature, to seek and secure prior approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to start a department for imparting a course or programme in technical education or a technical institution as an adjunct to the university itself to conduct technical courses of its choice and selection. What it means is that the AICTE Act,1987 is applicable only to 'technical institutions' and universities are not ' technical institutions', excluding them f

Your B.Tech degree have the same value as the other university or colleges have. LPU is one of the best universities for pursuing engineering. For running a university one needs UGC's approval, which they already have. It won't create any difficulty in getting jobs. Trust me you are not going to face any problem regarding this issue.

    Hi,
LPU does not require AICTE approval. Lovely Professional University is a university in itself and it is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India. AICTE approval is not required for a university to run a course in technical education as has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in its judgment CWP2056 of 1999 titled BHARATHIDASAN UNIVERSITY & ANR. V/S ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION & ORS, and various other cases.
    I hope it helps you!
    Thank you!

Hi, Lovely Professional University is approved by the UGC (University Grants Commission), so it does not need AICTE approval. According to the 2018 guidelines of the Supreme Court, AICTE approval is compulsory for all deemed universities and other institutes providing courses in technical education. When you study at a deemed university or at a campus (not at its affiliated colleges) approved by UGC, then even if your course is not approved by AICTE, there will be no problems. Therefore, the LPU does not require AICTE approval. Thanks.

As per my knowledge, Lovely Professional University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India, under section 2 (f) of the UGC Act, 1956. LPU does not require an AICTE approval since it is already approved by UGC, a statutory body of the Government of India. This is because universities do not require AICTE approval compulsorily. Hi there,

Yes, LPU conducted LPUNEST entrance test for its various programmes. However, it depends upon in which stream you want to take admission. For many UG/PG programmes such as btech, B.Sc agriculture, law, management etc. test is mandatory for both admission and scholarship purpose. For some other courses such as computer application, BBA, hotel management, Bsc IT,   commerce,   arts etc. test is only for scholarship purpose .

I hope this helps,

Both Chandigarh University (CU) and Lovely Professional University (LPU) are known for engineering, but if we think of Electrical Engineering, LPU appears better in many ways. As a student, I personally feel that LPU has a very practical approach to learning. Their labs are state of the art, and well-resourced, and I find that the faculty usually support us to work on real-time projects, which build confidence to take on challenges in industry. The university brings many industry professionals for guest lecturers, and have affiliations with top companies in the world, so this gives students a greater opportunity for internships and pla

Seat allotment during the LPU NEST counselling effectively takes place based on your merit (exam) rank, as well as the preferences you fill to course/specialisations while you log in to the portal for admissions after your results are out. After you log in to the counselling portal after the results go out, you need to honestly fill your choices of course/specialization. LPU will then look for which rank you are in the merit list, check availabilities, and allocate seats accordingly based on your previously chosen course/specialization seats and rank.
