No, but getting a call requires a high score in CAT. For final selection, your previous academics, experience and essay writing ability, group discussion ability is also considered.

Your academic performance, CAT/GMAT score, performances in GD and PI will be counted depending on the institute. Each parameter is assigned a particular weightage on the basis of which the final merit list is prepared. The parameters and their weights vary with each of the IIMs.
Over the last couple of years, group discussion is being replaced by written ability test. Until last year, IIM - Calcutta and Lucknow conducted GD rounds as a part of their selection process, but from 2015 onwards, both the institutes have exempted the GD rounds and now only conduct What-PI as a part of their selection process.

No. Along with your CAT score, your past academic scores, work-experience, your interview performance, academic and gender diversities are the other important factors which are accounted by the old IIMs for the admission process.
