Is only CAT score a factor for admission in IIMs?

    No, but getting a call requires a high score in CAT. For final selection, your previous academics, experience and essay writing ability, group discussion ability is also considered.

    IIM Admission Criteria:
    Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of CAT 2021 score, academic performance, and other criteria. Hope it helps.

    Yes, your performance depends upon the CAT score. If you want to take admission in IIM Ahmedabad, then you should aim for 99 percentile.

    Your academic performance, CAT/GMAT score, performances in GD and PI will be counted depending on the institute. Each parameter is assigned a particular weightage on the basis of which the final merit list is prepared. The parameters and their weights vary with each of the IIMs.
    Over the last couple of years, group discussion is being replaced by written ability test. Until last year, IIM - Calcutta and Lucknow conducted GD rounds as a part of their selection process, but from 2015 onwards, both the institutes have exempted the GD rounds and now only conduct What-PI as a part of their selection process.

    Your CAT score is the first factor for getting admission in IIMs and then you go through a group discussion or a written ability test and then personal interview. Also, your past academic records must be good.

    A decent score in CAT exam is the step to receive calls from IIMs. The important part is to convert the calls through WAT, GD and PI. If you can impress them with your knowledge and positive personality, then you are in.

    Apart from CAT score, your academics, work experience and your performance in GD-PI process will also be considered.

    Yes, CAT is compulsory for IIMs. After cracking CAT, you need to prepare for GD and PI.
