Yes, IT industry is growing in India so web designing has a wide scope. You can move your career with designing field. But make sure you have to upgrade your self every year because technology is changing day by day. To sustain in the market, you the have the latest knowledge of technology. Web designing is indeed a much-developed domain.
However, I feel that there are challenges due to CMS in this. Readymade designs are available and it seems a small market is tough to give business. Designing relates more to the Custom Web Designing needs.

It's an excellent career choice.This is a new emerging career.
These days buying selling, health management, wealth management, etc., everything has become online and every company big or small wants a web page or poster using web design for their product.
All the industries from hotels, hospitals, schools production units and retail everything is online. Even all govt. departments are also accessible online. Seeing all this more and more web designers are required. So, it is an excellent career choice.

There is no such technology in which you can say, it's now a career good option. It's just they have a different market or I say a personal choice of the companies. Web Design in a very broad field. Yes, web designing is a good career option.
