Dear student, The general procedure of getting admission is as follows: out of total seats we have 70% seats reserved for RPET,15% for JEE and 15% for management quota. 1)if u have a domicile of rajasthan then u have to appear in RPET exam and after clearing the exam u will get a particular rank. On the basis of your merit u can get admission in skit. 2) if u belong to some other state then u have to give the exam of JEE and according to the score of JEE u can apply in skit. 3) if your rank is not upto the mark n u have given any of the above mentioned exams(according to eligibility mentioned above) then u may seek admission through management seat. Hi Adi,
As the engineering that you did is not a degree but a diploma it would be difficult to get admission in Masters without a degree and would suggest you to go for lateral admissions in engineering course in the relevant stream.
Almost all the engineering colleges in India offers Lateral entry on the basis of qualify a test as organized & administered by the institute.
States like U.P and others conducts State conducted Engineering entrance Exam-SLEEE and the admission for this shall take place by the Common Counseling conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (for that particular state).

Pursuing Masters in Marine Engineering/ Nautical Science will definitely provide you with further growth improving your career prospects not just in your current job but also shall bring in other new opportunities.
But if you are keen to change your field of technical nature to more in the management then opting for a MBA would be a good option. You can look for specializations like logistics/ shipping etc as the most relevant on the basis of your education background.
