A decent enough preparation for CAT would suffice for Quantitative aptitude
based questions.
For the Data Interpretation questions CAT preparation would suffice. However, students are advised to practice observation based questions and brush up their calculation techniques / Speed Maths. I would recommend Nishit K Sinha for DI Preparation.
For the Logical Reasoning questions, it would be advisable for students to revise concepts pertaining to Puzzles, Number and Letter Series, Verbal Analogies, Coding and Decoding, Deductions, and Non-Verbal Reasoning. I would recommend RS Agarwal for this section.
For the questions on language ability a good preparation for CAT would suffice. The students should focus on Reading Comprehension , Vocabulary Usage, Antonyms & Analogies, Fill in the Blanks, Error Identification (Grammar), Para forming questions, & Summary questions. Use Verbal Ability by Arun Sharma for getting good hold on this section
For preparation on General Awareness, in addition to reading newspapers regularly, it would be advisable for a student to prepare from the following sources:
India 2011 / 2012 Yearbook (published by Govt. Of India). This (especially the Labor chapter) will help in answering General Awareness questions on Social Awareness.
Last 10-12 issues of MBA Education and Careers (T.I.M.E. Magazine)

History of India
History of India has three sections- Ancient, Medieval and Modern. But more emphasis is given on Modern History i.e 1857 and aftermath.
Geography of India
Questions on Indian geographical structure are generally asked. This includes Indian Peninsula, Indian Mountain system, Indian River system, Climate, Important Cities, Monuments etc.
Polity of India
Constitution of India and recent developments.
