If you are looking at doing Masters or PG, CUSAT is definitely better that CET. I work very closely with Academics and personally believe that academic freedom to design courseware for the quality of their students is something that is needed to impart good quality education. CUSAT has this with some very well educated professors who are dedicated to train students well. The govt is also pumping money to improve the facilities here. If your Bachelors degree is in the same course in which you are seeking admission, with 6 papers in that subject, you will be admitted on the basis of merit. If it is 3 papers, you will have to appear for an Interview.
If you have done your Bachelors in a subject other than the one you are seeking admission in, you will be selected on the basis of a written test consisting of 2 papers in the subject in which you desire to register for your M.A. degree. Paper 1 will be an essay paper in the subject, and Paper 2 shall be a paper to test your general acquaintance with the subject.
