There is a separate admission procedure for students from states other than Tamil Nadu(TN).
Selection is mainly through single window counselling system based on your high school. They see your PCM aggregate marks. Based on merit and as per first come first serve basis they can choose their preferred course from the available time/slot of counselling.

If the fee is an issue, go for SRM. If you can pay around 3 LPA, I would suggest you go for VIT. In the end, both the colleges are great and it depends on you how you get the best of them.

It depends on many things like the industry, you are going for, and then do you have a work-ex or not. The average package of every other college differs. It usually ranges from INR. 5 lacs - INR. 7 lacs. If it is a good college, which comes in the top 50, then the average package ranges from INR. 7 lacs - INR. 10 lacs.
