Christ University welcomes International Baccalaureate® (IB) students to apply to our undergraduate programmes. Admission to all programmes is based on academic achievement and Christ University Selection Process. Provisional Admission will be given to students based on predicted grades along with the transcript detailing percentage equivalencefrom the school last attended. Candidates should submit the final results of class 12 on or before July 10th of the admission year.
International students coming from Non-English speaking countries should:
i). produce evidence of passing the qualifying examination in English medium or
ii). have IELTS 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5 or TOEFL (paper) 550, TOEFL (computer) of 213 or TOEFL (IBT) of 79 scores
Candidates without the above pre-qualifications will have to enroll either for
a) Intensive Certificate course in English Language (Full Time) conducted from March to May or
b) One Semester Certificate course in English Language (Part Time) conducted after regular class hours from June to December.

Understanding of a deemed university is as follows.
1. It is autonomous in the sense of setting its own educational agenda (courses, syllabus, teaching methodologies etc.)2. It is administratively autonomous in the sense that it does not need to abide by the rules and regulations of any other university on adminstrative matters.3. It can award degrees under its own name, instead of that of an university to which it is affiliated.4.It cannot be an affiliating university in the sense of allowing other institutions to affiliate themselves to it.5.It cannot be a purely teaching institution. Research has to be an integral part of its activities.

This course will walk you through the Linux installation and setup, including some of the more difficult topics like network settings and graphical interface configuration. Then you will learn the basics of using Linux and get into the popular text editor VI. Using VI you will learn the basics of the Linux shell and how to create and program your own shell. Lastly, the course will cover a number of built-in Linux utilities and network commands. This course will significantly benefited for all those administrators who want to learn about installing, managing and administrating the Linux Operating System like System Managers, Server Administrators, Network Engineers etc.
The career prospects include job profiles like IT administrator in IT companies like TCS, IBM, Wipro etc, provided you have finished your engineering degree.
