Selection is mainly through single-window counselling system based on your High school (i.e. 12th or junior college according to your state) marks, when studying under class 10+2 system in India. They see your PCM mark aggregate (generally called CUT-OFF mark in TN) out of 100.

The course materials as well as orientation of these programs are quite dissimilar.
While BE is data orientated, B.Tech is skill orientated. BE is more of a study based on theory and B.Tech is more of application engineering.
One will never be able to decide which course is better between the two. Both these courses have their own importance and place in the society. If a student wishes to join a field that is engaged with the manufacturing of electronic equipment, then the BE field is more suitable for him

You are in a very tough situation, you have to study day and night so that you can pass the 12th. You have to make a proper plan and you need to give proper time to each and every subject. I am understanding' about your situation. If I was on your side, then I would definitely pass out as I gave only 2-3 months to my B.Com 3 year and passed out with first division. I had given approximately 7-10 months to my first year of B.Com and got the second division and had given maybe 4-5 months to my second year and got the first division. With MAT score, k g somaiya, NITs will be good choices.
Without MAT score, I am guessing you will take CMAT (because, you are not mentioning CAT), there are very small numbers of good colleges like K G Somaiya. But, cut off will be really high.
