I can help you here. If you want to take up science stream, you must be bold enough to tackle every mountain thats gonna come in your way. You'll have to love what you study. You'll have to sacrifice other entertainment like sports, computer games, and so on. Being average is of no use nowadays. Always try to score high. Marks matters. There is no difference in both the programme but very rare universities offer engg degree as B.tech hons although every good universities offer as B.tech programme.

IIM cannot help you there. IIMs only serve post graduate courses. You are talkin about undergraduate programme Economic Hons. After completing UG programme, you can sit for compititive exams to get into IIM for PG courses like MBA.
