Hi Naren, there are many ways of becoming an automotive engineer.
Any person with Engineering degree/Diploma can become an automotive engineer with a strong base in Science and Mathematics.
As you are pursuing graduation in Engineering you can further opt for M.E./M.Tech in Automobile engineering colleges which are spread all over India. There are even short/long term courses available. Well you have been rightly guided by aru.chopra . As for the entrance examination, I would say that the entrance is not that difficult and is based on current affairs.
For your preparation, you should start with reading newspapers everyday and make a note of all the good articles or important news that you come across.
