Yes they both are different in their own way.Actually most people dont know th clear difference.They refer computer engineerin to computer Science engineering.For eg. Theres lot of difference in IT , CE, CSE, CT (Computer technology). Whats the main difference is that computer engineering mainly focuses on both the hardware as well as the software part whereas computer Science is all about software, programming and algorithms. CSE includes heavy mathematics knowledge as compared to Computer engineering.When it comes to scope, in my opinion CSE is the better one as it is all about designing stuff.There goes a lot of brainwork in CSE than CE.If you have scored well, then CSE is better for you from a renowed institute.

Dear Ashish, With better and broader subjects, Mechanical engineering offers better scope than civil engineering. Civil engineering primarily targets a field whereas Mechanical engineering can be further divided into a variety of fields. My cousin did B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering at LPU. I will tell you why mechanical engineering is better at LPU. LPU is a well renowned private university in India with 30K+ students all across the world and with 4000 experienced faculty members and staff members. There are more than 200 programmes to choose and with a great infrastructure, LPU provides all the facilities within the campus itself. LPU has earned many affiliations, recognitions, and accreditation down the lane and marks itself amongst the few of the top private universities. The Mechanical Engineering programme seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic Science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem-solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal, etc. Specialisation. Placements: There are more than 100 companies that are coming in LPU for placements of the mech. Students. It varies from 3 Lacs per annum to 12 Lacs per annum. On average, the placements are 5 LPA in a very core company which gradually sees a couple of rapid promotions based on your hard work. Even the placement opportunities in LPU are much better than other private universities as it is ranked 5th amongst the other universities for its placement records. No institute can guarantee you placements. It's just purely based on how you utilize your abilities and skills at the right time. Salary is a function of various factors - I.e. (I) the institute where you have completed your B.Tech + M.Tech. e.g. a graduate from a top institute will command a higher salary. (ii) Your work experience - organization and type of work profile (iii) city - a metropolitan city will have higher salaries as compared to smaller cities and towns. (iv) Your current organization - I.e. where you will be joining - an MNC usually has higher salaries as compared to other organizations. (v) Your work profile I.e. Manager/ AVP, etc. Thus one cannot allocate a figure.
