This would depend upon the policies of the college and also on how you have fared in your exams of the 1st year. It would also depend upon the availability of the seat in the branch that you now desire to go in. Such changes of branch are very difficult in engg colleges and you would be really lucky if you can get the new branch now.

Hi Preetam,
First of all an MBA degree is for the students from various backgrounds and more than the background it would be your interests and clarity in goal which will help you in your career growth. However, a law background definitely would be of help in understanding the legal aspect of any business, and big corporates would be more than happy to take a Management student with a law degree as then they don't have to higher a CS separately.
Hope this resolves your query. Feel free to put up more queries In case your query is resolved please close this question by choosing it as a best answer or pressing the thumbs up icon.

Arina, It's appreciable that you have become cautious about your career now and forget the past. General is only mostly available and it is also worth doing.
Arears are not much looked at when your overscore is good at end of completion, so focus on rest of the years and bring in colours to your scores.
