Yes, you may surely take GMAT exam, as per your query it seems that you are interested in pursuing MBA from universities in US.
So, regarding this please remember in order to pursue MBA from good universities in US you need to have atleast 3-4 years of full time work experience after graduation.
Besides work experience you also need to have:
Good academic record, preferably 60%-70% plus in graduation.
Relevant undergraduate degree from recognized university.
GMAT score of 500-600 plus.
TOEFL score of 80-90 plus.
